President Cyril Ramaphosa appoints Justice Raymond Zondo as Chief Justice

President Cyril Ramaphosa has, in accordance with Section 174(3) of the Constitution, decided to appoint Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo as the next Chief Justice of the Republic of South Africa with effect from 1 April 2022. With Justice Zondo assuming the position of Chief Justice, the position of Deputy Chief Justice will become vacant. President Ramaphosa has accordingly indicated his intention, once the new Chief Justice assumes office, to nominate Justice Mandisa Maya for the position of Deputy Chief Justice.

The Langman Hospital, Part of the 'The Ramblers Club' in Bloemfontein

Ramblers Club is one of the most Historic Buildings in Bloemfontein. As the oldest Sports Club and former Military Hospital in the Free State. The main Building was erected in 1896 and later extended in 1903. Founded by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, a military Doctor. The Venue is now used for: weddings, corporate events and private functions. It is decorated with: Crystal chandeliers, high, detailed ceilings and the original carpentry finishing makes the space an elegant and sophisticated venue. (Welcoming guests into the main building they have created a separate space. Inspired by the original club décor of dark wood furniture and gold details make this lounge and bar area perfect for intimate private and corporate events.) The Lawn – The Ramblers lawn has hosted numerous Historic sporting events. In 1891 South Africa played cricket against Australia on that very field and in 1903 the club hosted a soccer match between Corinthians and O.R.C.
