Aha Hills, Northern Cape Border With Namibia and Botswana

Due to the almost total absence of water, there are few animals or birds and only a few insects. The main attraction of these Hills is their solitude and isolation. When the sun sets, the characteristic sounds of Southern Africa are absent, though the resulting stillness is near perfect!

There are no facilities there, but unofficial camping is allowed within 100 m of the main track. Basic supplies and drinkable bore water is available in the Villages of: Xai Xai and Qangwa. 50 km from the Aha Hills, the Gewihaba Caves are nearby the Aha Hills and these Caves are linked with passages which contain fascinating stalagmites and stalactites formations that appear like waterfalls of rock!
