During the month of May we celebrate Africa Month as a way to commemorate the creation of the Organisation of African Unity (OUA) in 1963.. As a way to value the continent’s history, to reflect on it’s links and historical dynamics and to promote awareness, we made a selection of books from our archive that intent to show Africa’s variety and diversity from a historical perspective.

From political history to debates on gender, knowledge and decolonization, this selection of books invites the public to engage with Africa’s history and knowledge production.
