On 10 December 2013, South Africans and more than 90 world leaders gathered together at the Memorial service of Nelson Mandela, which was held at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
Thousands of people sang and danced in celebration of the life of Nelson Mandela. Speeches were delivered by United State President Barack Obama, President Dilma Rousseff of Brazil, China's Vice-President Li Yuanchao, President Raul Castro Ruz of Cuba and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon at the memorial service.
A man from Johannesburg aged 26, celebrated the legend’s life by selling framed pictures of Nelson Mandela outside the stadium.
