Siyabonga Eugene (Bhele) Nomvete, SA footballer who was winner of the Kick Off Magazine Soccer Player of the Season, 98/99 & 00/01 awards, was born on 2 December 1977 in KwaMashu, KwaZulu-Natal. Nomvete began his professional soccer career in lower league clubs in Kwazulu-Natal. In 1998 he joined the Premier Soccer League (PSL) team Kaizer Chiefs as a striker.
Nomvete joined Italian Serie A divisional team Udinese in 2001 where he spent three seasons. He represented South Africa in the 2002 and 2010 World Cups as well as in the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations. He currently plays for Moroka Swallows.
