10 December 1981
The Committee of Artists of the World against Apartheid was established in Paris with the support of the United Nations Special Committee against Apartheid. The United Nations Special Committee against Apartheid was established in 1963. Its main objective was to promote active United Nations encouragement of public action against apartheid. Many International organisations like International Student Action in Solidarity with the Students of Southern Africa played a huge role.
