Footballer, Tebogo Aaron Mokoena was born on 25 November 1980 in Boipatong Johannesburg. In his early career, he played for local teams such as Jomo Cosmos. He later moved on to teams like Ajax Amsterdam, KRC Gent and until recently, Portsmouth. He currently plays for Bidvest Wits.
Mokoena is the youngest player ever to represent South Africa. He was only 19 when he played in 1999 at the 2000 Olympic qualifiers. He also led Bafana Bafana in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana. Mokoena’s tough tackling skills have earned him the nickname ”Mbazo”, meaning “The Axe”.
