Zuma to grow ANC membership in tribute to Madiba, 17 July 2011

As part of realising ANC stalwart Comrade Nelson Mandela`s dream and that of his organisation - taken as far back as 1942 - to grow the ANC membership to one million, members of the media are reminded of the address by ANC President Jacob Zuma in officially launching the drive towards the one million membership, on Monday, July 18, at the historic Lilies Leaf farm in Rivonia - where the ANC High Command of Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK) was arrested during the height of apartheid. Comrade Zuma will also be paying tribute to the struggle stalwart on his birthday. Also present will be ANC National Chairperson Baleka Mbete, Organising and Campaigns Chairperson Fikile Mbalula and members of the ANC NEC. The programme is as follows:

9.40am: Arrival at Lilies Leaf farm of National Chairperson Baleka Mbete

10am - 11am: Comrade Baleka Mbete is interviewed by the Jewish Radio Station

11am - 11.15am: Briefing with President Jacob Zuma

11.15am - 12pm: ANC President Jacob Zuma speaks on the organisation`s one million membership countdown

12pm - 1pm: President and NEC members taken on tour of Lilies Leaf farm by CEO Nicholas Wolpe

1pm - 2pm: Lunch

2pm - 2.10pm: Vote of thanks by Comrade Fikile Mbalula

2.10pm: Departure for Luthuli House
