ANC mourns the passing on of Mama Regina Nzo, 27 September 2011

The ANC is deeply saddened by the news of the passing on of Mama Regina Nzo who was the widow of former secretary general of the ANC and former minister of foreign affairs, Alfred Nzo who died on the 13th January 2000.

MaNzo passed on Saturday, 24 September 2011, at the age of 81. She was an ANC activist and went into exile with her husband in 1964 for 26 years. She returned to South African in 1990 and worked for ANC Women’s League. Her contribution will be a source of strength for the ANC as we carry on with the struggle for a better society.

Details for her funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course. We send our sincere condolences to the Nzo family, relatives, friends and the entire congress movement.

May her soul rest in peace.
